Thermoformable moulding is done by immersing the mouthguard for 60 seconds in water at 70-80°C, then placing it directly on the upper teeth and pressing firmly with your fingers against the outside of your lips. Let cool for 30 seconds in the mouth before removing. A good mould ensures the mouthguard stays in place without having to clench your teeth constantly. If the fit isn't satisfactory on the first attempt, the procedure can be repeated one or two more times maximum — beyond that, the gel structure may degrade.

What size for an 8-year-old child?

The junior version generally suits up to age 12. If permanent teeth are already well developed or the child is very large for their age, move to adult size.

Care advice

Rinse with cold water immediately after each use to remove saliva and debris. Wash once a week with a soft toothbrush and mild soap or toothpaste. Never use hot water for cleaning (risk of deformation). Store in a ventilated case to prevent moisture and odours. Replace as soon as cracks appear or fit becomes loose.
